The fifth and final episode of survival horror game Song of Horror will arrive on May 14, developer Protocol Games announced. Although a bit later than originally anticipated, the final episode will bring together everything that players have experienced in the story to date.
The episode is called The Horror and The Song and includes a brand new playable character, a bone-chilling epilogue that changes everything, and, of course, the conclusion of your favorite characters.
The Presence, the beast that haunts you throughout the entire playthrough, is now fully unleashed and it will connect all the strands, itself serving as the player's last opportunity to get rid of the cursed song.
“This is the closing chapter in an adventure we first set out almost six years ago. We wanted to breathe life into a horror game we, as gamers had always wanted to play. All five episodes of Song of Horror are the product of that desire, and we can’t wait for those who have played the first four episodes - and indeed those new to the game, taking on all five episodes in one go - to experience just how the story ends,” said Protocol Games founder Carlos Grupeli.
More importantly, developers announced that in order to stem the gap between the last two episodes, a major update to Episode 4 is now available for download. The update brings more than 15 new events such as unique scares, unexpected encounters, and haunting sequences, an original collectible (The Tarot Deck) that helps players resist The Presence, deeper color scheme, improved sound ambient, as well as polished animations during scenes.
