We’re inspired by the energy transfer that occurs between the spark of an idea and the satisfaction of seeing the result, expected & otherwise. As kids, we experienced this conjuring up an improbable purple horse & bringing it to life in a coloring book; or dreaming up a fantasy hamburger joint that we’d run, and then building it LEGO brick by LEGO brick. Usable tools with no rules embolden and empower imaginations.

We believe that physical stickers are an incredible medium, both associated with great consumer love, but under explored as a platform for self-expression. While many of us are born with artistic tendencies, few of us will ever become artists. In using stickers, we’re able to stand on the shoulders of artists before us, remixing and recontextualizing their works. Stickers require no manual, are completely global and intergenerational in their appeal, and accessibly priced.

Apply is a sticker brand & retailer. We license and commission culturally resonant art, translating and manufacturing it into stickers. We view each sticker as a creative building block, a unique ingredient to be leveraged by our customers to bring their ideas to life.

Job Overview

We’re building software systems that will set the groundwork for all the pieces of our business. From consumer-facing applications, with all the glitz & polish of products intended for discerning creatives to internal software, geared to streamline manufacturing and operations, we have massive technology ambitions.

Key components you would be working on include:

• Asset management system˜
• E-commerce store
• Mobile web and potentially native applications
• Company blog and marketing site

There’s also a lot of innovative ways to use technology that have not been applied to physical stickers as a medium. This will range from dramatically simplifying the sticker design & manufacturing process to giving consumers new ways of connecting the physical and digital worlds.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong end to end engineer to help develop the core components and integrations to bring an early stage company to life. You will play an essential role in achieving future success and scale.

Who you are:

• You love a challenge and figuring out how to solve problems with software
• You love coding and enjoy working with a team and solo on projects
• You’re good at observing both functional and non-functional requirements and are well suited to ask questions to help you develop the right solution.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll write a lot of software :). We’re a startup and you’d be the first full-time engineer on the team. You’ll work with our Chief Digital Officer to solve exciting problems in building our products and internal tools.
• You’ll own the initial implementation of our systems and infrastructure. You should have exposure to launching your own applications on AWS or similar cloud systems and feel confident in your ability to maintain and grow an end to end application.
