Role Overview

GenUnity is seeking a dynamic social media specialist who is passionate about developing social media content to inspire everyday adults to drive change. This role will involve amplifying stories from within GenUnity’s member community, creating easy-to-understand content from GenUnity’s curriculum for social media audiences, and initiating / executing collaborations to grow GenUnity’s brand presence. The candidate must have prior experience with various social media platforms (mainly Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter; Tik Tok experience is a nice-to-have).

This specialist will join GenUnity at a critical phase in its growth: GenUnity’s programs have served nearly 100 aspiring leaders across the Greater Boston Area, and we are excited to translate this early momentum into a stronger digital presence as we expand.

Responsibilities

• Plans and creates social media content
• Monitors and curates content
• Draft social media calendar with potential graphics and caption
• Post on key social media (LinkedIn, Instagram) platforms 1-2 times per week
• Social media community management
• Expected hours of work: 8-12 hours per week

About You

Who you are:

• Self-motivated, innovative, and creative—can balance bold ideas and vision with ability to operationalize and execute
• Approach the work with a growth mindset and an openness to giving and receiving feedback for continuous learning and improvement
• Strong commitment to community building and grassroots organizing.
• At least 1 year of experience in social media and graphic design (Canva)
• Track record of “rolling up your sleeves” and working collaboratively with others to bring projects to successful completion
• A great sense of humor—we’re serious about not taking ourselves too seriously
