Social App

The Social App is an in-character social media platform, allowing your character to share moments, see what others are up to, and connect with the world around them. Think of it as an in-game Instagram or X (formerly Twitter).

Accessing the App:

Tap the Social icon (typically a picture icon 🖼️) on the Home Screen.

Getting Started: Accounts & Login

• The first time you open the app, you'll be prompted to log in or sign up. Each character needs their own unique account.
• Sign Up: Choose a unique Social ID (your username) and a password. This account will be linked to your currently controlled character.
• Login: Use your chosen Social ID and password to log in. The app will remember your login for your specific phone.
• Important: This is for in-character use only. Do not use real-world passwords.

Navigating the App (The Bottom Bar)

The app is divided into four main sections using the navigation bar at the bottom:

• Feed (🏠): This is your personal timeline. It displays the latest posts from your own character and from all the characters you follow. If you aren't following anyone, it might feel a bit empty!
• Search (🔍): Discover new content and characters. You can search for posts by keywords or by using a #hashtag. You can also switch to the "Users" tab to search for other characters by name.
• Create Post (➕): This is where you share a new moment.
• Profile (👤): This takes you to your own profile page, where you can see your information and posts.

Creating and Managing Posts

1. Navigate to the Create Post tab (➕).
2. (Optional) Add an Image: Tap the "Select Photo" button to choose an image. You can also create text-only posts without an image.
3. Write a Caption: Enter your text in the caption area. You can use #hashtags to make your post more discoverable.
4. Mentions (@): Want to call out a friend or tag an NPC? Simply type the @ symbol followed by their name (or nickname) in your caption or comment. A suggestion list will pop up immediately. Tap a user to tag them. Once posted, the tag becomes a clickable link that leads directly to their profile.
