People do not shop at one place and often not alone. At times they are looking to collaborate or get recommendations from their group of friends and family. Other times they are looking online to get inspiration and ideas as to how/what they need to do a project.
From the information they get from this, they are left to research the product and find where to buy it. Once you identify the exact price and where to buy it, you are in a cycle or comparing similar products and collaborating and eventually making a purchase.
This is the generally what the process looks like once user thinks of starting a project.
Research → Get Recommendation's → Search Products Online → Compare Prices & Collaborate → Purchase
Note: Not only there are several steps but each step is its own platform requiring you jump from one to another.
