Who we are

Slingshot is a browser extension that lets you navigate the web using keyboard shortcuts. This policy explains what data the extension collects, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect

Slingshot collects a small amount of anonymous usage data to understand how the extension is being used and to improve it over time.

Anonymous installation ID When you install Slingshot, a random ID (a UUID) is generated on your device and stored locally. This ID has no connection to your name, email address, browser account, or any other identifying information. It exists only to distinguish one anonymous installation from another so that usage trends can be measured correctly.

Anonymous usage statistics Once per day, Slingshot sends a small report to our servers containing:

• Which shortcut categories you used (e.g. search engines, AI sites) — recorded as counts, never as the actual queries you typed
• Which optional features are enabled or disabled in your settings (e.g. the Enter/Shift+Enter swap toggle)
• The date the report covers

That is the complete list. Slingshot does not collect or transmit:

• Your search queries or the content of anything you type
• The URLs you visit
• Your browsing history
• Your IP address (beyond what is technically required for any internet connection)
• Any information that could identify you as a person

Where data goes

Usage reports are sent to a private database hosted on Supabase, a third-party infrastructure provider. Data is stored on servers in the United States. Supabase's own privacy policy applies to their handling of that infrastructure.
