The Mary Rose was Henry VIII's warship that sank in 1545 during the Battle of Solent under mysterious circumstances. Her wreck was raised in 1982 and is now conserved in the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.

Investigating claims that a Guinean diver Jacques Francis had dived the wreck soon after the sinking and brought back a cannon, on breathhold – a Channel 4 production company asked NoTanx to demonstrate modern freediving in the documentary.

In August 2018 a NoTanx team of Marcus, Arnaud, Matt, Sam and myself travelled to Portsmouth and checked in at the SETT Tower a now decomissioned MOD site with a 30 metre deep diving tank , and well, dived… and dived… whilst the cameras were rolling…
