# Signal Notebook Privacy Policy

Signal Notebook is local-first by default.

## Data Storage

Prospects, notes, tags, status, follow-up dates, contact history, and settings are saved locally in this browser with `chrome.storage.local`. Signal Notebook does not use a server account system in P0.

This may include contact or prospect information that you choose to enter, such as names, companies, titles, email addresses, LinkedIn URLs, source URLs, notes, tags, follow-up dates, contact history, message templates, and managed tags. The developer does not collect, receive, or host this data.

## Page Access

Signal Notebook does not automatically read LinkedIn page content or other website content. It does not modify LinkedIn pages or other websites. It does not add page scripts or injected interfaces.

When you click the extension, it may read the current tab URL to prefill the editable Source URL field. The extension processes text only when you paste or type it into the popup.

Search Helper links are optional manual research shortcuts. When you click a Google search link, the query terms shown in that link are sent to Google in the search URL. Signal Notebook does not read, collect, or store Google search results.

## User Actions

Signal Notebook does not automatically perform LinkedIn actions. It does not scroll pages, click buttons, send connection requests, send messages, or fill message boxes.

## Exports

CSV export is triggered only when you click `Export My Prospects`. The exported file contains your own locally saved prospect workspace data for spreadsheet use.

Backup JSON export is triggered only when you click `Export Backup JSON`. The backup may include prospects, notes, contact history, settings, managed tags, and message templates. Backup restore only happens after you choose a Signal Notebook JSON backup and confirm restore.

## Data Sharing

Signal Notebook does not sell user data. Signal Notebook does not send prospect data to any server. Current builds do not include AI features.

If future AI features are added, they should only send data that you choose to process to the AI provider that you configure.

## User Responsibility

You are responsible for saving and using only information you have the right to process. You should follow the terms of the websites you use, including LinkedIn's terms where applicable, and comply with applicable privacy, outreach, and anti-spam laws.

## Clearing Data

You can clear all local Signal Notebook data from Settings. Removing the extension may also remove extension-local data depending on Chrome behavior.
