Cleaning

Rather than using toxic chemicals that fail to break down hard water and soap scum, one can use the following solution to easily clean the shower glass and flooring.

Supplies:

• White vinegar
• Dish detergent
• Magic eraser
• A container for mixing (ex. bowl)

Organic Distilled White Vinegar (5$ as of July 2022) (Whole Foods)

Dawn Dish Soap Ultra Dishwashing Liquid, Dish Soap Refill (pack of 2) ($15 as of July 2022) (Amazon)

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (10 count) ($10 as of July 2022) (Amazon)

<aside> ❗ CAUTION: When the shower floor is covered with dish soap solution, it becomes very slippery

Instructions:

1. Mix 50/50 your white vinegar and dish detergent in a bowl
   1. An example of a good amount would be 2 cups vinegar, 2 cups detergent
2. Using the magic eraser, lather the mixed solution with circular motions on the shower glass/floor; be careful as this will make the shower floor very slippery
3. Let the solution sit for 15 min
4. Wash off the solution with water
5. Optional: Follow-up with additional scrubbing using the magic eraser before rinsing again

Replacing Caulk

Sometimes the caulking in the shower has mold that cannot be removed with cleaning solutions. The proper solution is to completely replace the caulking.
