Hi, I’m Sheryn Dylan. A single mom from Indonesia, a passionate writer, and a food enthusiast at heart.

I’ve been in love with writing ever since I was in school. My head was always brimming with stories, and if I didn’t pour them onto paper, I’d feel restless. I still remember getting into trouble for skipping homework just so I could write short stories. That’s how much storytelling means to me.

Alongside writing, I’ve always had a deep love for food and cooking. I don’t enjoy crowded places, so my joy comes from exploring new flavors in the quiet of my kitchen. For me, delicious food is heaven on a plate. Something I simply can’t resist.

Whenever life feels overwhelming, food becomes my comfort. Cooking and eating are my ways of healing. After a good meal, I find myself smiling again, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.

I love nature , mountains, quiet places, and peaceful surroundings. Luckily, Indonesia is full of natural beauty and hidden culinary treasures. Through this e-book, I hope to share some of those delicious secrets with the world.

This series starts with sambal. Indonesia’s beloved spicy condiment. With our rich cultural diversity across islands and regions, each area has its own version of sambal. What’s even more fascinating? Every single one is delicious.

My dream is to travel the world, introducing sambal and Indonesian culture to as many people as I can and of course, to taste amazing dishes along the way.

Although I created this book entirely on my own, I truly hope you find joy in every page.

Writers may seem like they’re always at home, doing “nothing,” but trust me , when you do what you love, no task feels too heavy, and no problem feels too big. Work becomes joy. Life becomes lighter.
