Privacy Policy for Sharos

Welcome to Sharos ("we," "our," or "us"). We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding information collection, usage, and security within the Sharos mobile application (the "App") designed for Google Play.

1. No Personal Data Collection

Sharos is built with a privacy-first approach.

• We do not collect, store, or share any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical location.
• All tracking data—including your Pomodoro history, focus scores, subject-wise time tracking, total time tracking, and saved exams or generated answers—is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our own servers.

2. Permissions and Device Feature Usage

To provide productivity and focus features, the App requires specific Android system permissions. These are used strictly on your device:

• App Blocking Feature: The App uses the Android Usage Stats or Accessibility Service permission solely to detect when a distracting app is opened during a active Pomodoro session and block it. No background browsing history, app text, or usage patterns are collected, recorded, or transmitted.
• Storage / Media Access: The App requests access to your device’s storage/media files only when you explicitly select a PDF or image file to upload to the AI Tutor for question answering.
• Camera Access: The App requests camera permission only when you explicitly capture a photo of an academic problem or text to process via the AI Tutor.

3. AI Processing Disclosures

Sharos features an AI Tutor that handles text, image, and PDF inputs to generate answers and create customizable exams.

• Data in Transit: When you upload a prompt, image, or PDF to the AI Tutor, this data is sent securely via HTTPS to an external Artificial Intelligence API provider (such as Google Gemini API) to generate your response.
• Stateless Processing: These API requests are processed statelessly. Your inputs are used solely to generate the immediate response/exam and are not saved by us, nor are they used to train public machine learning models.
• Local Storage: Any answers or exams you choose to save are stored exclusively in your device's secure local storage.

4. Subscription and Financial Data

Sharos offers both free features and paid premium tiers.
