Varuna is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to help future-proof water systems and enable operators to deliver clean water consistently. Varuna's products are a combination of Internet of Things hardware and insights software deployed across the US. We are looking for a software engineer who can bring a creative and rigorous approach to system design, data storage, security, analytics, data processing, product development, and deployment. In the role, the Senior Software Engineer will

• Upgrade, design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.
• Manage two junior developers, manage projects, prioritize and deliver to deadlines and deliverables.
• Take responsibility and develop solutions to product, data and, process challenges.
• Pay particular attention to product quality and experience.

While we have a few developers on the team currently, you will be the lead developer impacting the millions of lives we aim to ensure get access to clean drinking water. You will also liaise with our software and hardware vendor partners.

Qualifications

• 7 years of software development experience at a product-led technology company.
• Experience with C++, Django Python, React, ReactJS, NodeJS.
• Desired: Familiarity with Google Cloud Product Stack and Python for Machine Learning.
• Desired: Familiarity with the Internet of Things (IoT) technology stack (hardware, firmware, communications, cloud platform, and cloud applications).

Requirements

• Experience developing software products in product-led organizations.
• Empathy, a positively persistent approach to addressing challenges and capturing opportunity and comfort with being accountable for responsibilities.
• Interest in learning other coding languages.
• Working experience with necessary project management tools.

This role is fully remote but strong preference for Austin, TX, or Chicago, IL candidates.
