Secondary Motion Layer Generator
Menu: EQLabs/Creation/Animation/Secondary Motion Layer Generator
What It Does
- Adds a reviewable secondary-motion pass to editable transform-curve clips inside Unity.
- Builds overlap, settle, drag, and recoil-style offsets instead of trying to replace full simulation workflows.
- Uses mask presets and custom include/exclude tokens so artists can constrain the pass to upper body, limbs, or specific transform groups.
- Always writes duplicate output clips and can export a JSON report for handoff or review.
Best Use Cases
- quick follow-through polish on hand-authored transform-curve clips
- upper-body recoil or settle passes for gameplay animation variants
- non-destructive before/after review inside a bundle workflow
Recommended Workflow
- Add the clips you want to polish.
- Create or load a settings asset, or generate the starter settings if you want a fast baseline first.
- Choose the body mask plus any custom include/exclude tokens.
- Enable position and/or rotation output and tune the drag, settle, recoil, and influence controls.
- Run
Preview Secondary Motion first to see which bindings are supported and how large the projected offsets are.
- Run
Generate Secondary Motion when the preview looks right, then compare the duplicated output clips before replacing any production assets.
- Export the JSON report if the pass needs to be reviewed or handed off.
