"Creative products are always shiny and new. The creative process is ancient and unchanging." - Silvano Arieti

<aside> 👌 Hey! Get ready to spin up your Second Brain - Harness your digital intake & expand you creative output. This is a template of a Second Brain. This is the backbone of a personal knowledge management system (PKM) It uses the PARA (Project, Areas, Resources, Archive) system created by Tiago Forte. I have extended PARA with the Knowledge Hub and Notes sections. To see how each of these databases interact watch the free mini-course.

Knowledge Hub

It’s a place to capture interesting, surprising, and useful information from the web by using the Notion Web Clipper. Link back to these in your notes and projects using the '/link to page' command. Take time to Distill information from your knowledge hub into reusable Resources. For more info on how to capture information into your knowledge hub, read my Capture Strategies Guide.

Actions

I have resources on how I like to manage goals and tasks but feel free to modify this to suit your needs and style. I personally use and highly recommend Motion.

Start new project by brain dumping and linking all the sources from your knowledge hub, the resources you will need to complete it, helpful notes and plan out how you're going to complete it. Areas

<aside> <img src="/icons/info-alternate_gray.svg" alt="/icons/info-alternate_gray.svg" width="40px" /> Areas are different to projects because they don’t have end dates, you just keep doing them. An area can contain multiple projects. Start by brain dumping all the Areas of your life that you maintain responsibility for and then clicking the ‘New Area’ template inside. If you’ve used the relational database property in your projects database then the area will show you which projects are part of which area.
