Being the sole designer on this project, I worked with product manager, researcher and solution manager to research, plan, scope and design the new search UX which solve our immediate business needs and guide strategic product development decisions


INTRO

Challenges

SAP Ariba Guided Buying, part of the SAP Ariba enterprise procurement suite, was launched a few years ago targeting casual buyers (such as regular corporate employees) to make a purchase with a familiar e-commerce experience.

However, as more features from this 20 year-old procurement suite being added to the platform, the search experience became really complex, jargon-heavy and confusing.

Multiple modules for different procurement activities were added to the platform along the way, adding complexity to content consumption, navigation and way-finding
