Role Summary: Scriptwriter & Researcher

• We’re looking for talented scriptwriters to join the Boostraft Media team and help us create ‘mini-movies’ on the fascinating life stories of some of the most famous and controversial personalities in history. This is for a brand-new channel, and our goal is to produce the best documentary videos out there
• This is remote freelance work that can be done from anywhere in the world.
• You will be paid per script, and this can become very regular ongoing work if that's what you're looking for. Pay is competitive (and is negotiable based on the quality of your work). There is also a lot of opportunity for progression.
• We believe that some of the most famous and controversial people in history have incredible life events that no one has ever explored. The world rarely discusses why they became controversial or what truly led them there. Mainstream media often paints a one-dimensional picture, focusing only on their actions while hiding their real story and personality. We want to change that. Your role will be to help us tell these fascinating life stories in the most captivating way possible. Your scripts will then be transformed into high-quality videos for our YouTube channel.
• Key skills required: researching, writing, and storytelling. It is essential you have the ability to conduct thorough fact-checked research, and turn that into an engaging and exciting story. (An interest in politics and conspiracy theories would also be very helpful).
• We are NOT looking for article writers, we want someone who can create immersive stories that take the audience on a journey from a person’s birth to their present day or death. This requires extensive research into their life, uncovering the most fascinating details, and weaving them into a compelling narrative that ties everything together. The goal is to create a thrilling story filled with emotion, tension, highs, and lows, all while staying true to verified facts.
• The type of scripts we’re looking for will mainly be along the lines of: ‘How X Became the World’s Cruelest Leader’ , where X is the person’s name (for example, Osama Bin Laden, Kim Jong Un, George Washington). Each script should be written as a chronological story, highlighting the most dramatic and fascinating moments of their life.
• The average script will be around 1500 to 2000 words, but this can be flexible depending on the topic and will increase as the channel grows and we make longer videos
• You will have some choice over which specific person’s life stories you work on, as we want to ensure you are working on people you have some interest in, and thus are happy to dig deeper into the research to find more unique and detailed information. You will also be able to suggest topic ideas if they’re interesting enough stories.
