Things to do:
- Be on the meeting at or before the start time.
- Capture a list of attendees and watch/listen for players arriving late.
- Do your best to capture WHO is speaking within your notes. This helps when someone has a question later about a specific topic “someone on the call was talking about x….”
- If you are pasting notes into Notion from another source, include an extra line between each player/topic and this will help with the format.
- If you are abbreviating something because it appears repeatedly or is just long, spell it out once in full and then put your abbreviation in parenthesis immediately behind that. Then, make sure to bold your abbreviation throughout the rest of your notes.
After the call and once you have proof-read your notes:
- Go into the appropriate text channel for the meeting (usually #townhall-dump or #champions-ring) to grab any links that were shared during the call
- Paste notes into the forum https://forum.metagame.wtf/c/start-here/ for the proper meeting thread
- Paste your notes into Notion if they aren’t keyed directly: https://www.notion.so/e65552a31e3344bfa60bfe0bcd3f7188?v=75113fc2fede408da8d7259f9a6a079a
- Within notion: add the Season # and week # in front of the title, then move the document to the top of the list so that our newest notes appear first.
- Paste Meeting Title, Date (formatted as dd-month-yy for international readability) , Attendees, summarized bullets, link to Forum, and link to Notion in the discord #meeting-notes channel
- In discord, shift-return will add a carriage return without submitting the comment.
- putting '**' around something will make it bold
- eg. 'Summary' without the single quotes becomes Summary
- If any players contact you about amendments/corrections/redactions, please make those changes as promptly as possible.
- DefileZebra would encourage you to set an expectation for anyone that reaches out: "I am finishing this (fill in the blank) and will make the edit in the next X units of time"
- Avoid posting any attachments in discord as they cannot (yet) be edited.
Things to keep in mind:
- Always be respectful and inclusive
- Apologetically interrupt to ask for clarification if you didn’t understand or are uncertain about something.
- If you had to search to understand wtf someone was talking about, feel free to share links within the notes.
- Your overarching goal should be to capture the essence of the discussion in a manner that satiates curious players that couldn’t attend and hopefully inspires them to not miss the next meeting.
