Scene Presets & Automation
Scene Presets are special cinematic effects that are not tied to any specific Actor. They belong to the World itself. These are perfect for Game Master narration, establishing shots, chapter titles, or combat phase announcements.
📂 Managing Scenes
You manage Scene Presets from the Cinematic Control Panel.
- Open the Control Panel (⚡ Icon in Token Controls).
- Navigate to the Scenes tab (Film Strip Icon 🎞️).
- Click Create Scene to make a new one, or Edit (✏️) to modify an existing one.
⚙️ Configuration
Configuring a Scene Preset is nearly identical to configuring an Actor Preset. You have access to the same Themes, Layer Manager, and Audio settings.
Visual Tips for Scenes
- No Image? You don't need a character image! You can leave the image field blank or hide it, and just use the Text and Background Layers to create a title card (e.g., "Chapter 3: The Red Tower").
- Video Backgrounds: Use the Layer Manager to add a looping video (WEBM/MP4) as a background for environmental effects (rain, fire, space).
⚡ Combat Automation
Unlike Actors, Scenes do not react to item usage or dice rolls. Instead, they react to the State of Combat.
Go to the Triggers tab in the Scene Configuration window to access these options:
⚔️ Combat Start
- Trigger: Activates immediately when a Combat Encounter starts (specifically, when Round 1 begins).
- Usage:
- "Roll for Initiative!" visual effects.
- Boss Fight Intros.
- Sudden Ambush alerts.
