Travel Guide - Savellor

Your basic guide to the entire region of Savellor.

Summary

Ecology

Landscape

No matter where you enter the region, Savellor looks the same. Tall mountains and frozen rivers make up the land, with little to no place for villages or farming. The land is always covered in a beautiful blanket of snow, which glitters in the sunlight.

Climate

The weather is cold & bitter here. Savellor suffers from an eternal winter, that has no beginning or end. Not even during the summer do the blizzards cease. They're merely less frequent. Most days, however, the winds are calm and the snow gently falls from the sky.

Fauna & Flora

Winter pines and evergreens make up the forests, and bushes with sweet berries often emerge from the snowy blanket. In some areas, there are wild vines which grow fruits that can withstand the cold, and offer a small amount of nutrition in times when food is scarce. Flowers, however, are rare, and considered a commodity. The more beautiful the flower, the higher it's value.

Winter owls, rabbits, foxes and goats are common wildlife, and are hunted for food.

Points of Interest

Lunivale

A kingdom and castle located on the eastern side of Savellor.

Great Roosts

Along the southern coast of Savellor, there lies many stone spires that were home to the dragons for centuries. That is, until they were driven to extinction during the Last War.

Rifting River

A river that was said to flow freely from the mountain valleys to the Ancient Sea, until the eternal winter began. Now, it remains frozen from the valleys to the waterfall just before it reaches the sea.

Weston Village

A village near the border between Fellnore and Savellor. This village is full of skilled hunters and gatherers, masters of surviving in the winter.

Kilead

A halfway town between Weston and Lunivale. There isn’t much special about them, but they’re valued nonetheless.

Northwinds

The windy mountains of the north. This area has been stripped of animals, lumber, or any other valuable resource, and winter storms make the journey all the more dangerous at the mountain peaks. No one ventures there.

Stillwater Valley

Just past the Northwinds lies the Stillwater Valley. It is a pit between the mountains, so barren than not even the water has life to it. There are no storms, and monsters do not make their home here for lack of food or shelter.
