After The Miracle, they evolved from primates from the west. Over the course of many thousands of years, they migrated all around, and now they can be found on every continent.
Biologically, they’re just like humans from our real world.

After The Miracle, they evolved from Lesser Tundra Spirits (but all of their culture denies this). They have a higher magical sensibility than other species. Same life span as all the other species.
Pure-blooded elves can be born only during “The Parties” (certain astronomical phenomenon that increases the magic levels in the air). These events (aurora borealis, meteor shower, etc.) last for just a while, and across every elven society, this period is sacred and marked by excess. It is possible to use potions and items to force the right magical conditions for reproduction too.
(have a custom to cut tails at birth — so we don’t have to animate them in 3D)

After The Miracle, they evolved from a man-eating large cat species. For many thousands of years after appearing, they still preyed upon the other sapient species, and in Feline-dominated societies, rumors of cannibal black markets are still whispered about, but IF someone partakes in such an act nowadays, they are considered abominable criminals.
After a great many cultural revolutions and punitive expeditions from groups of every other race, they abandoned their “savagery”, and as a symbol of reconciliation, now they cut off their tails at birth.
They are omnivores, but their biology requires meat to make up to 40% of their diet, ideally.
(have normal humanoid legs)

The original inhabitants of the continent, they were created by the ghaulmen as servants. Originally, they didn’t have personality or sapience, but these evolved naturally after The Miracle.
Even to this day, they are born with characteristics implanted in their species to serve the ghaulmen; knowledge ingrained in their DNA. However, much of this knowledge is nowadays useless (about collecting plants that have already gone extinct, cleaning objects that are no longer made, etc.), and most of this knowledge is damaged after thousands of years of breeding without the selection of their old masters (once, they were born with knowledge of the ghaulmen language, now they have dream-like glimpses of bizarre noises that they no longer recognize). Because of this, they traditionally believe they come from the “Dream Realm”, and they are often involved either in efforts of making the things they dream with into reality, thus being responsible for much of the innovation in this world, or experimenting with allucinogens and lucid dreaming.
The different shapes of horns of their people once indicated their job in ghaulmen society. Nowadays, tough varying from culture to culture, it is mostly associated with clan identity or regionality.
