Safeguarding Policy Statement

Paint Pots are committed to responding promptly and appropriately to all incidents, allegations or concerns of abuse that may occur and to work with statutory agencies in accordance with the procedures that are set down in 'What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused' (HMG, 2015) and the Care Act 2014.

At Paint Pots, we will take the necessary steps to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. Our settings will work with children, parents/carers, staff, and the community to ensure the rights and safety of children give them the very best start in life.

Our Key Aims:

To promote children’s right to be strong, resilient, and listened to.
To help children to establish and sustain satisfying relationships with their families, with peers and with other adults.
To work with parents/carers to build their understanding of, and commitments to, the principles of safeguarding all our children.

The purpose of this policy statement is:

To protect children and young people who receive Paint Pots services from harm. This includes the children of adults who use our services
To provide staff and volunteers, as well as children and young people and their families, with the overarching principles that guide our approach to child protection.

This policy applies to anyone working on behalf of Paint Pots including senior managers and the board of trustees, paid staff, volunteers, sessional workers, agency staff and students.
