The following is a brief overview of what healthcare is, followed by a brief explanation of several types of public health insurance.
Cost sharing reductions (CSR) are discounts on deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance that make having insurance more affordable. CSRs also lower your out-of-pocket maximum which is the maximum amount you are required to pay for health care services per year. Once you reach the out-of-pocket maximum, the insurance plan must pay for 100% of the costs of covered services. If you qualify for CSRs, you must enroll in a silver plan to receive the benefits.
