Sacrament is a slightly alternative universe of our own world. The story begins in the 2000s and takes place in the fictional town of Mills Crossing, Maine, USA, deep in the woods near the Canadian border.
The 2000s. No social media, the internet isn't available everywhere, and phone service (especially out in the wooded boonies) is spotty. The action revolves around the mysteries of the small town of Mills Crossing and the elite university located nearby: SACRAMENT. The unique thing about SACRAMENT is that it primarily accepts people with the Blooming – a special ability that enhances a person's talents and reveals their true personality, and it's tied to floriography, the language of flowers. Based on the flowers that have "anchored" themselves to a person, you can tell a lot about their personality, talents, and inner struggles.
