Running the Hackathon (Live Ops)
Congratulations! You have successfully planned and prepared for your hackathon. Now, it is time to execute the event. Here are some guidelines to help you run a successful hackathon:
Setting Up the Venue
- Arrive early to set up the venue and ensure that everything is working properly.
- Test all the equipment (projectors, microphones, speakers, etc.) to make sure that they are functioning well.
- Set up the registration desk and provide name tags, goodie bags, and any other materials that participants will need.
- Prepare the hackathon environment by creating a space where participants can work together comfortably. This includes setting up tables, chairs, and power outlets.
Managing the Teams
- Assign each team a designated workspace with a table and power outlet.
- Provide teams with access to necessary resources such as whiteboards, post-it notes, markers, and paper.
- Ensure that teams have access to mentors who can provide guidance, feedback, and support.
- Encourage teams to take breaks, eat, and rest throughout the event.
Monitoring Progress
- Monitor the progress of the teams throughout the event. This includes checking in with the teams regularly to see if they need any assistance.
- Ensure that teams are adhering to the rules and regulations of the hackathon.
- Encourage teams to share their progress with the rest of the participants and judges.
Addressing Technical Issues
