Application

  1. Applicant must complete an application through the website.
  2. Applicant must schedule and attend 3 dinners through the application or with the Membership Coordinator. (2 dinners Virtual, during COVID pandemic)
  3. Applicant submits an official interest (with an optional room preference), move-in date, and a background check

Voting

  1. House members have an opportunity to "Blackball" the candidate before the next house meeting. See HERE for more.
  2. Applicant is voted on at next house meeting.

Response:

  1. Applicant is given a response after Blackball and Voting are complete (YES or NEEDS REVIEW)
    1. If the application needs review due to Blackball or Background Check, the board must review and give an answer within 1 week or they are automatically accepted.
    2. If the application needs review due to a Call to Vote, the house must vote and give an answer within 1 week or they are automatically accepted.
    3. If two applicants submitted an official interest on the same day and there is only one vacancy, priority is given to the applicant who submitted their original application first.

Move-In

  1. Applicant is invited to move in at scheduled date
  2. Applicant must pay their deposit, membership fee, and sign an electronic lease within 3 days of co-op response
    1. Applicant may request a room, which can be reserved while vacant for a maximum of 2 weeks at the co-op's discretion
  3. Applicant must pay the first month's rent within 3 days of their move-in date unless otherwise arranged with the Treasurer
