About the role
We have money coming in. What we need is someone who can tell us if we're actually making money, or if we're just moving it around and feeling good about ourselves. That someone is you.
This isn't a back-office role where you close the books once a month and disappear. You'll reconcile daily, manage treasury and liquidity, build the financial reporting the team actually relies on, track unit economics, and tell us the truth about whether the numbers actually work. Not the version that looks good on a slide. The real one.
The job is as much about seeing the big picture as it is about chasing the small numbers. If those feel like two different jobs, they're not. They're just Monday and Tuesday.
This role needs someone who's comfortable being the most detail-oriented person in the room and the sharpest thinker in the same meeting. If your idea of fun is finding a ₦50 discrepancy at 11pm and not sleeping until you've traced it, you'll fit right in.
What you'll be doing
If money moves through Pouchers, you know about it, you've reconciled it, and you can explain it.
- Reconcile transactions across all infrastructure partners daily. Not at month-end. Discrepancies get caught the same day, resolved or escalated immediately
- Manage pool balances and liquidity so no user ever has a failed transaction because a pool ran dry. Know when settlements hit, when funds clear, when to pre-fund
- Maintain a daily cash position report. Every dollar, naira, and stablecoin. Where it is, right now
- Prepare monthly P&L, cash flow, and expense breakdowns. Revenue by product line, costs by category. In a format the team can review in minutes
- Track all business expenses. Monthly expense briefs, burn rate, runway. Flag anomalies before they become problems
- Run payroll. Accurate, on time, every month. Track how headcount changes affect the burn
- Calculate and maintain unit economics. Cost per active user, revenue per user, partner fees as a share of volume. Show whether the model is working, not just what happened
- Track every partner's fee structure against what we're actually paying. When volume triggers a tier change, capture the savings. When costs grow faster than revenue, flag it
- Keep financial records audit-ready at all times. If a regulator or investor asks, you produce them in hours, not weeks
- Build the operating rhythm. Daily reconciliation, weekly cash position, monthly reporting. Maintain it without anyone chasing you
Who this role is for
- You've managed treasury or finance operations at a fintech, payments company, or digital assets business. Not just booked entries. Actually managed money movement
