This project focused on evolving an enterprise skills portal from a purely transactional system into a community-driven, growth-oriented learning experience.
While the existing platform enabled employees to log skills and take assessments, it struggled to create sustained engagement. Usage was largely event-driven employees visited during performance review cycles, added the minimum required skills, and disengaged soon after. The experience offered little clarity around why specific skills mattered, how proficiency progressed, or what actions could meaningfully impact long-term career growth.
The problem wasn’t functionality; it was behaviour.
Our goal was to fundamentally shift how users perceived and interacted with the platform: from a compliance task to a purposeful career-building tool.
By applying nudge theory and behavioural design principles, we redesigned the experience to guide users toward intentional action. Subtle prompts, personalised recommendations, and clear next steps helped users move from passive participation to active ownership of their skill development. The result was a platform that not only supported upskilling, but actively motivated continuous learning, engagement, and participation.
