Retroly is a tool for teams that want to flourish and have impactful retros every single time. It guides your team through industry-approved activities that ensure you run a successful retro every time.

Retroly started as a small project back in 2019. I had just left my recent job at the time where I was a full stack developer. This was the beginning of an interesting startup with a UI/UX designer in Amsterdam, Netherlands Biyi Adetunji . We launched later in December 2019 and won 2nd Product of the day on Product Hunt (26th, December 2019) with 307 upvotes. Retroly still remains my most important and passionate product to date.

The Goal

The primary idea was user from using sticky notes in meeting, sprint planning, or idea generation sessions. Also, we wanted it to be more collaborative, less complex and easy to use without any guide. They were almost similar products in the market, but some were complex.

Retroly's usability, reliability, and functionality have always been top priorities for us. Aesthetically, it's plain and uncluttered. There are no advertisements or dark UX, only a consistent and intuitive user interface that provides value to our users and keeps them happy and engaged.

My Role

Retroly team has only two members. Myself as lead software engineer and Biyi as the lead designer. I have being the lead software engineer since the inception, making decision on the tools to use, best practises to abide by, managing databases, feasibility of implementations and core user experiences.

I handle customer support, and customer feedback. I take insights into these feedback to better help prioritise new features and existing problems.
