When a hero retires, their room at the Tavern becomes vacant.
Heroes can retire in one of four ways:
Dying in the dungeon
A hero who dies in the dungeon drops all of their items. If the party has other heroes with enough Carrying Capacity, they will pick up the dropped items. Otherwise, the items are lost forever.
Old Age
A hero will automatically be retired when they reach age 50. At that time, the player will be prompted to choose whether they wish to assign them as a mentor at the Guild of Heroes, or simply retire the character. Either way, they will place all their equipment in the Tavern storage and are commemorated in the Memorial Hall at the Guild of Heroes, where players can view the hero’s character sheet.
Mentoring at the Guild of Heroes
Any hero above the age of 35 can become a mentor at the Guild of Heroes. Doing so will automatically place all their equipment in the Tavern storage and add the hero to the guild’s Memorial Hall, where players can view the hero’s character sheet.
Additionally, mentor heroes can impart wisdom to the new character occupying their Tavern room. The new hero gains the following empowerment training:
Banishment
A hero banished from the Town will automatically place all their equipment in the Tavern storage, however the equipment’s durability degrades by 10% of its maximum.
For some reason, banishment causes the enemies inside the dungeon to go into a frenzy, increasing the dungeon’s danger level by 10%
If there is an available room at the Tavern, the player can create a new character at the Guild of Heroes.
Empowerment training grants the new hero experience at the end of the Character Creation process. This allows heroes to level up immediately after being created.
Characters can be empowered during the creation process through various methods.
Equipment Synthesis
Players can spend class-relevant items to empower the character. Each item grants an amount of XP based on its power and rarity.
