Resume & CL Tips

Resume Tips
- Be honest. Don’t add things you didn’t really do.
- One page is enough. Keep it clean and easy to read.
- Start every line with an action word like helped, created, or led.
- Use real examples. Write what you did, not what you think sounds fancy.
- Show what you learned, even if the job was small.
- School projects, babysitting, tutoring, or helping at church all count.
- Read it out loud. If it sounds confusing, fix it.
- Ask a friend or teacher to check it before you send.
Cover Letter Tips
- Start with hello and your name.
- Say what you’re applying for and why it matters to you.
- Write like you’re talking to someone who doesn’t know you.
- Tell one story that shows effort or growth.
- Keep it short and honest. Two or three short paragraphs is fine.
- Don’t try to sound perfect. Just show you care and want to learn.
- End by saying thank you and include your contact info.
