As a investor at firstprinciples.vc, I’ve been trying to figure the science around investing for a while to only realise that the unknown unknown most entrepreneurs face is too vast to accurately evaluate at a very early stage.
An observation over time is founders that you passed on investing do really well and you try to understand how. A bunch of companies we skipped on investing in 2018, have gone on to do extremely well. At the time we though there was huge regulatory uncertainty and other issues with their approaches.
They’ve succeeded nevertheless by just being resilient and hustling towards their vision over time. With time they’ve compound both their network, product, teams and knowledge.
