Why are we building this?

The mission at Airtable is to democratize software creation by enabling anyone to build the tools that meet their needs, and Airtable is has built a powerful application that is doing just that.

Last year, Airtable launched Interface Designer, this feature allows teams to build custom front-end apps for their day-to-day needs. For someone like me, a product manager, I can quickly set up a dashboard or two with data in my base to monitor what my feedback looks like or new subscribers to a mailing list.

We want to add to this experience by enabling embedding interfaces on external applications. This would help users share their interfaces to almost any audience without leaving the application they are on.

What are we building?

Embedded Interfaces

We are building an embed feature for interfaces so that users can embed a view of their interfaces on external applications.

This would be an addition to the various ways users can share their work by enabling them copy a block of code they can put on an external front end.

Target Audience

1. All paid user classes (Plus, Pro, Enterprise)

Goals

1. Enable users share interfaces more creatively
2. Grow user acquisition
3. Convert more users to paid users

Success Criteria

1. Increase conversion rate to paid usage by 5%
2. Increase adoption of the interface design feature by 10%
3. Increase in monthly new users by 1%
