This page covers the fundamental steps required for those relocating to Denmark to work for The Org. EU citizens and Non-EU citizens might be following different paths in order to complete their integration to Denmark.
This step is required for those who hold EU passports. SIRI (The Danish Immigration Office) do not issue a work permit automatically for EU citizens. You have to set up an appointment online to get your own work permit. To do that you need to have the signed contract from your employer, or a declaration form, either NOT OLDER THAN 30 DAYS BEFORE SHOWING UP AT SIRI OFFICE.
Here you can find what documents you actually need to fill and submit: https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/You-want-to-apply/Residence-as-a-Nordic-citizen-or-EU-or-EEA-citizen/EU-employee?anchor=howtoapply
Once you submitted the OD1 form on their website, they will decide if it is okay, and then you can book an appointment to show up at their office, where you will need to bring your work contract and case ID (received in email after submitting the form).
If all goes well, you’ll get your work permit and ready to continue your journey! 🙂
Non-EU citizens receive their Residence & Work permit before they move to Denmark That is, they can skip this first step.
There are various websites where you can view properties for rent.
If you believe that affording an apartment alone in Copenhagen is expensive, there are various Facebook groups where people try to find a roomie to move to a new apartment together. It’s also common to rent a room in Copenhagen rather than moving to an apartment. You can find available rooms online through BoligPortal and Facebook Groups.
