My body and brain were tired after the 2-hour tour, and I felt reluctant to think about how to wash my clothes. The hostel's machines were broken, and the nearby laundromat was so pricey (minimum 20 euros for one wash & dry!), so my vision of putting all the used clothes in the washer, having everything cleaned like when I started the trip, was now broken. Still, I got myself sit up, open the suitcase to figure out what I absolutely needed to clean. It turned out that even when I couldn't wash everything, if I just washed a few pieces of clothes, I'd be good till the end of the trip. I went around the hostel and figured out that I could hand wash those items using the provided shampoo and hung them in the laundry room or near my bunk bed. I also once again went after the hostel staff to ask them to refill the room's shampoo bottle (so I didn't need to go find travel-size shampoo!). That afternoon, after I washed my hair and figured out laundry, a sense of freshness and relaxation occurred in my entire body. I was surprised by how good suddenly it felt at that moment. The hostel room that felt inconvenient last night & this morning, now felt much more comfortable, as I'd figured out how to arrange my belongings, and got more familiar with things and people in the room. The scene outside the window that was dark and gloomy now was brightened by the sunset light. My body which was tense, from all the travelings yesterday and the 2-hour tour today, had loosened up after the shower, and now relaxedly lying on the bed. Everything is fine now. I've made it here, safe and happy! I will remember that afternoon for a long time.

The picture taken in 0.5x might have made it look a bit more claustrophobic, but I actually felt fairly comfortable here! If you'd lived with me and seen how meticulous I am with my closet, you'd know that I wasn't used to putting all my clothes and towels together like that, but I was adapting to it. Other than that, I was feeling so free and light as I had so few items with me, and every single item served an important purpose (if not multiple purposes!).

Washed my socks, yayy! I'd love hanging clothes on lines like this since last summer at Friday Harbor — it's so cute and movie-like!

I searched for a place with healthy nourish bowls with lots of veggies for dinner. I found SLA, which was my favorite-favorite place thoughout this spring break. The atmosphere was lovely, the environmental commitment was clear, the food was so delicious, the wifi was fast, the staff were cute! It's just that their portion was so big that I would have to take half the dish away (enough for another meal) everytime I go there, so I didn't have a convenient time when in Rotterdam to visit there again.

Working with SLA's wifi and nice desk!

This is their classic Green Protein bowl: Tempeh tamari, baby spinach, quinoa, lentils, roasted broccoli, sweet and sour cucumber, roasted sweet potato, creamy hummus, roasted chickpeas & roasted pumpkin seeds. Sesame, ginger & tamari dressing. Afterwards, one staff approached me to give me a cookie. They said that they'd have to throw it away at the end of the day, and it's near closing time already, so I could have it if I'd like. Receiving a cookie like that was lovely! It was rather big so I couldn't finish it — it was later finished by a friend I made in King Kong Hostel, a woman from Austria who was finding her lost cat.

This was the Stroopwafel that our free walking tour guide, Bram, gave to each of us. It was very fun to try a Netherlands' traditional sweet as an unexpected gift from the tour like this!
