Recency pronouns are pronouns used to refer to someone who was previously mentioned based on the order in which they were introduced in the conversation or text. Could be useful for storytelling.
la - last mentioned person
pre - second-to-last-mentioned person (from the word previous)
oth - any previously mentioned person (other than la and pre) OR someone other who was not previously mentioned
"Alex and Emily are handling food. La (Emily, last-mentioned) is bringing sandwiches, and pre (Alex, second-to-last) is bringing fruit. Oth (someone else excluding the previous two) is in charge of drinks.”
