Because I like to /move into/ my edit suite because I spend more time there than my home. And organisation makes me happy.
Stationary
- Tote Bag to put everything in
- a few smaller bags that fold up, useful if doing a drive run or a snack run.
- Pen Pot
- Sharpies (Black mainly, then a few colours)
- Pencils
- Highlighters
- Ballpoints
- Stapler (& spare staples), hole punch, tape & scissors
- Post its
- Bulk buy them, you’ll go through many
- Notebook
- Also those little to do list pads can useful
- Drive labels are also useful (I stole some from a post house)
- Label maker (excessive but fun to have on hand)
- Whiteboard markers in variety of colours (most edit suites have a whiteboard, I have these ones)
- Assorted clips + random things
- bulldog clips
- a few sizes, I’ve used all of them in various ways
- if you have a whiteboard magnetic ones are also useful!
- pins for the pin board
- paper clips
- rubber bands
- Specific - but little screwdriver for hard drives (I literally got mine in a Christmas Cracker)
- Also Specific - tape measure, useful during edit suite setups!
Tech
- Mouse or pen tablet (personal preference)
- I’m about to buy this one
- Phone charger
- Empty hard drive (give it a name, labeled with your name & email address / phone number)
- Working hard drive (labeled as such with with your name & email address / phone number)
- Sound FX library
- bonus points if already made into Avid media and bins… I have yet to achieve this
- Temp score folder
- collect these as you are asked, just useful to have some downloaded as jobs will often ask for similar styles
- USB adapters / cables
- USB - USB c adapters, a few different cables on hand
