Foz do Arelho – “the land of happiness” – that’s what I call it!
I have been living in Foz for 10 years, and although I was not born and raised in the “land of happiness”, I feel part of it, I consider myself a Fozense – sometimes even with a little pride.
My hobbies are surfing and hiking.
When it comes to hiking, Foz do Arelho and its surroundings are among my favourite places. We have one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the country. The more I travel to hike, the more I feel that Foz do Arelho can play an important role in attracting nature tourism – a more sustainable and high-quality kind of tourism that can help us overcome seasonal dependence.
We already have almost everything we need for this. What is missing is vision and political will.
That is where my convictions align with those of Pedro Costa and Guadalupe Carvalho – people with a vision for both the present and the future, people capable of thinking about our parish in an honest, transparent, and modern way.
We share the privilege of living so close to nature. Let us take care of it, and it will take care of us.
