Pyunghwa Kim —Sensemaker, Connector, and Doer
I began my career in Seoul, South Korea, working as a product and experience designer across advertising agencies, startups, and platform-based companies. Over more than seven years, I have designed content, digital products, and services, building intuitive and effective user experiences through UX/UI design and service planning. Working in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments allowed me to take ownership of projects end to end—from problem framing to execution—while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
As my practice evolved, I became increasingly interested not only in what to design, but how people learn, change, and sustain new ways of thinking and acting. In 2025, I expanded my professional domain by entering a Master’s program in Educational Technology. While design serves as a powerful tool for identifying and solving problems, educational technology takes a step further by systematically examining how people learn and how learning experiences can be intentionally designed.
At the intersection of user experience design and educational technology, my goal is to design learning-centered products and experiences that enable learners to become reflective problem solvers—and eventually, designers of learning experiences for others.
