Field Driver - User Manual

1. Introduction

Field Driver is an advanced automation tool for Adobe After Effects that allows you to create complex, distance-based animations without writing a single line of code.

Whether you need layers to scale, rotate, change color, or wobble as a controller moves past them, Field Driver handles the complex math instantly. It features a crash-proof engine, a "Baking" system for rendering, and comprehensive reset tools.

2. Installation Guide

Use this method to ensure the UI themes and logos load correctly.

1. Unzip the downloaded file. You should see a file named Field Driver.jsxbin and a folder named ui.
2. Copy both the file and the folder.
3. Paste them into the ScriptUI Panels folder for your OS:

• Windows: C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Adobe After Effects <version>\\Support Files\\Scripts\\ScriptUI Panels\\
• macOS: /Applications/Adobe After Effects <version>/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels/

1. Restart After Effects.
2. Open the panel via Window → Field Driver.

3. Interface Overview

The panel is organized into a logical workflow:

1. Controller Setup: Create the source driver (Nulls or Path).
2. Mode: Toggle the engine between Null-based or Path-based calculations.
