Problem Statement
- What is the problem?
The project aimed to enhance the trust and security information available on the Atlassian Marketplace app listings page. It addressed the need for detailed information about the privacy and security posture of Marketplace cloud apps, which was a growing concern for customers, especially during their migration journey to cloud services.
- Why was this problem significant?
Customers expressed concerns about evaluating the privacy and security of cloud apps, which was significant as it affected their decision-making process during migration or when adopting new cloud apps. The lack of transparent and accessible information on app security and privacy posed a challenge in establishing trust between customers and app vendors in the Marketplace.
- What is the impact of solving this problem?
Solving this problem was crucial as it directly influenced customer installation behaviour and trust in the Marketplace. By providing a new Privacy and Security tab with detailed questionnaire responses from partners, the project aimed to increase transparency and help customers make informed decisions. This was expected to lead to higher installation rates for apps that met privacy and security standards, thereby enhancing overall trust in the Atlassian ecosystem and supporting the growth of the Marketplace.
