Data Sources

• November 1, 2021: Reached out to a local small business association
  • November 3, 2021: Received spreadsheet w/ aggregated revenue data
• November 2, 2021: Added business registration data from DataSF

Progress & Findings

• November 5, 2021: Cleaned data & emailed w/ contact person at the association to better understand how data was generated
• November 6, 2021: Created data visualizations as part of my EDA —> there might be an association between reopening & small business openings
• November 6, 2021: Completed some statistical tests to verify the significance of the association

Conclusion & Future Work

• Opening the US to visitors seems to have had a positive impact on the recovery of small businesses in the wake of COVID-19.
