General Etiquette

Propel is a very unique program. We have people coming from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Since its inception, we've had Fellows and Mentors from over 10 countries and 9 different time zones. While it is extremely diverse, this also means that we have to be more mindful of how we communicate. We’d like to remind all Fellows:

The 6 Core Principles of Propel

⌚ Responsibility We have all committed to be here for the duration of the program. You are expected to attend all weekly meetings and presentations. However, we recognize that you have other commitments and may have attendance conflicts. If you have any known or potential absences, you must let the team know upon your acceptance. Any additional attendance conflicts that might arise must be discussed and agreed upon with your team well ahead of time.

🔊 Open Communication When you notice problems or have ideas for improvements—be it in your team, your project, or the fellowship—feel free to express your thoughts! We encourage open communication across all parties in Propel.

🔎 Empathy While we are often eager to share our experiences with each other, always remember to be patient as we exchange knowledge and have an open ear for your peers.

👩‍💼 Professionalism Be respectful and friendly in your conduct with anyone and everyone you interact with through Propel.

🤝 Give and Take Own your own learning and seek out resources as necessary, but also don't be shy to ask others for help! We also expect you to help out other Fellows vice versa.

🎉 Most importantly - have fun! In the end, we’re all here to learn. Try your best to enjoy every step of the process and learn as much as possible throughout these 10 weeks!
