As a product manager, be sure to update this page with your semesterly roadmap and PRD, along with your email outreach each semester. Templates are provided.
For the PRD, update your name, the last time you updated the document, and scroll to the section after “Features”. The only sections you should be editing is “Initiating Maintenance Mode” replacing it with whatever theme you want the work for that semester of QMI to be, as well as “SP25 Feasibility & Impact Matrix,” replacing it with your own matrix for your semester. Leave Metrics for Success alone, as they have been predetermined.
How to write a roadmap: Another roadmap-writing reference: https://kissflow.com/project/project-roadmap/
For the roadmap, delete all cells and start with a blank slate as you see below: There is a column L and M that has is called “Wrap Up” as a psuedo-sprint 6. Replace and move around names as you see fit.
This document was first introduced in SP25, and is a basic walkthrough of the product, listing current features as well as features currently being worked on. By including images and annotations, anyone who reviews this document should have a clear understanding of what QMI has to offer as well. It’s also good for documentation for future PMs to refer to. Make sure to update this semesterly as features get shipped out!
Before we are able to get outreach automated (prospective project from SP25 by Nidhi), we have to document our outreach manually with a spreadsheet and using email templates that we manually copy, paste, and send in email formats to multiple professors.
This work has to be done pre-semester, ideally a week or two before the semester starts so that professors can get their courses uploaded to QMI and ready for the semester. It also gives us breathing room for communication, in case professors take a while to respond/etc.
