Wasl Privacy Policy

Wasl ("we", "us") is a companion app for Umrah pilgrims that helps groups stay connected and provides Islamic features (Quran reader, prayer times, qibla, etc.). This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information we collect

Account information

• Phone number (required) — used for authentication via Firebase Authentication.
• Display name (required) — shown to other members of your group.
• Email address (optional) — for account recovery and important service notifications.

Location data

• When you join a group, your device's location is shared with other members of that group only, so the group can find each other during pilgrimage.
• Location updates occur in foreground and background while you are a group member. Sharing stops immediately when you leave a group.

Camera

• Used only when you scan a group QR code to join a group. We do not store camera images.

Device data

• Device identifier (Firebase Installation ID) and notification token to deliver group alerts and SOS notifications.
• Battery level is shared with your group so members can see if your phone is running low.
• App diagnostic data (crash reports) to improve reliability.

Subscription data

• If you purchase Wasl Pro, RevenueCat processes the purchase receipt and associates it with your account. We do not store payment card information — this is handled by Google Play Billing.
