## Privacy policy — Savejar

### 1. Summary
Savejar is a manual savings goal tracker. We designed it so your core data can
stay on your device. If you choose optional features (such as cloud backup or
sign-in), some information is processed by service providers listed below.
Savejar does not hold, move, or access your bank money, and we do not ask for
bank logins, card numbers, or similar credentials for operating the app.

### 2. Information we process
**A. Information stored on your device (local)**
When you use the app, it may store on your device (for example in a local database):
- Savings **goals** (names, targets, deadlines, currencies, progress, notes you add)
- **Contribution / withdrawal** records you log
- **App settings** (for example appearance, reminder preferences, currency choices)
This local data remains on the device unless you use optional sync or you delete the app.
**B. Optional account & cloud backup (Supabase)**
If you enable **cloud backup** or **sign-in**, we process:
- **Account identifier** (for example email address you use with the sign-in provider)
- A **copy** of the goal and contribution data described above, stored in a database hosted by our backend provider (**Supabase**) so you can sync across devices
You can stop using sync by signing out or turning off the feature where the app allows it; deletion rules may depend on how you use the service—contact us if you need account or cloud data removed.
**C. Purchases (Apple App Store)**
If you buy **Savejar Pro** (or similar), **Apple** processes payment. We receive **purchase status** information needed to unlock features (we do not receive your full card number from Apple in the normal App Store flow).
**D. Advertising (Google Mobile Ads)**
On supported versions, **non‑Pro** users may see **banner ads** served by **Google** through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google may use identifiers and related data according to **Google’s policies** to show and measure ads. See Google’s privacy materials for details.
**E. Notifications**
If you allow it, the app may **schedule local reminders** on your device (for example savings reminders). Granting notification permission is controlled in your device settings. We do not need your contacts for this core feature.
**F. Diagnostics & crash data**
We do not describe a separate third‑party crash analytics product in this template. If you add one later, update this policy and your App Store privacy answers.

### 3. Legal bases (if EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on **contract / steps at your request** (providing the app), **legitimate interests** (security, improving the product, fraud prevention where applicable), and **consent** where required (for example optional marketing or non‑essential tracking—align this sentence with what you actually enable).

### 4. Sharing and processors
We share data only as needed to run the features you use:

### 5. Retention
- **On device:** Data stays until you delete it or remove the app.
- **In cloud (if used):** Retained while your account is active and as needed to provide sync; contact us to request deletion where applicable.
- **Legal / tax:** We may retain minimal records if law requires.

### 6. Security
We use industry‑standard practices appropriate to the product (including encrypted transport to our backend where cloud features are used). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

### 7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to **access**, **correct**, **delete**, **export**, or **object** to certain processing, and to **lodge a complaint** with a supervisory authority. Contact us at the email above. We will respond within a reasonable time.

### 8. Children
Savejar is **not directed at children under 13** (or the age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

### 9. International transfers
If you use cloud features, data may be processed in countries where our providers operate (including the United States). We use providers that offer appropriate safeguards where required.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new **effective date** at the top. If changes are material, we will provide notice as required by law or in the app.
