• Page Content: When you use the extension to convert a webpage to Markdown, the extraction and conversion processes happen entirely within your local browser environment.

3. Storage

The extension uses the chrome.storage API to store your local preferences and conversion history. This data remains on your device and is not synchronized with any external cloud service unless you have Chrome's native synchronization enabled.

4. Permissions

Web2Markdown requests the following permissions for specific functional reasons:

• activeTab: To access the content of the current page for conversion.
• scripting: To run the conversion logic on the page.
• downloads: To save the Markdown file to your device.
• clipboardWrite: To copy Markdown text to your clipboard.
• storage: To save your local settings.
• contextMenus: To provide a quick-access menu item.
