Tabkey (“the Extension”) is a Chrome extension that lets users assign number keys (1–9) to open tabs and switch between them quickly.
This Privacy Policy explains what data Tabkey accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
1. Data We Access
Tabkey accesses the following information from your browser:
- Open tab metadata via Chrome extension APIs:
- tab title
- tab URL
- tab ID and window ID
- tab index and active state
- favicon URL (if available)
- Locally stored extension settings:
- shortcut assignments (1–9 to tab IDs)
- toggle history needed for back-and-forth tab switching
2. How We Use Data
Tabkey uses this information only to provide core features:
- show your open tabs in the popup
- let you assign numeric shortcuts
- switch to assigned tabs when you press keys
- toggle back to previously active tabs
- show the shortcut overview overlay
3. Data Storage
- Data is stored using chrome.storage.local.
- Storage is kept locally in your browser profile.
- Tabkey does not store your data on our servers.
