Steppi Step Counter ("Steppi", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Quick summary: We only collect what’s needed to count steps, show progress, and (if you opt in) sync across devices. We don’t sell your data. We don’t show third‑party ads based on your health data.
1) What we collect
We aim to keep data collection minimal:
- Activity data (optional): Steps, distance, floors, active minutes and related metrics you allow us to read from your device’s health sources (e.g., Apple HealthKit or Google Fit). You control this permission.
- App data: In‑app preferences (units, goals), badges/achievements, and basic usage events to make features work.
- Account data (optional): Email/name if you create an account or sign in to enable backup/sync. If you don’t sign in, your data stays on your device.
- Diagnostics (optional): Crash logs and performance data to fix bugs and improve stability.
We do NOT collect precise GPS location, contacts, photos, or microphone data.
2) How we use data
- Provide core features: Count steps, display history, goals, widgets/complications, and streaks.
- Sync and backup (optional): If you sign in, we store your activity summaries and settings to keep them across devices.
- Improve Steppi: Fix bugs, measure feature performance, and plan improvements.
We do not sell your data. We do not use HealthKit/Google Fit data for targeted advertising.
3) Health sources (Apple HealthKit & Google Fit)
- Health data access is opt‑in and limited to the categories you approve.
