Prompt Manager was built to be a secure, lightning-fast text expander and prompt library. We believe your data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what minimal data we collect, why we collect it, and what we guarantee we will never touch.

1. Why We Collect Data (The "Site Compatibility" Problem)

Prompt Manager works by interacting directly with the underlying code structure (the DOM) of the websites you visit to seamlessly inject your saved text.

However, the internet is vast, and every website is built differently. Sometimes, a specific site's code structure might block the tool, cause a glitch, or behave in a way we haven't encountered before.

We collect basic telemetry data to identify when and where the tool fails. This collection makes sure that if you find a problem on a site we didn't know about, we can quickly patch the extension and make that new site fully compatible for you.

2. What Data We Collect

We only collect anonymized, non-personally identifiable information (non-PII) to help us monitor performance and fix bugs.

• Standard Usage Data: We track basic interactions (e.g., successfully expanding a prompt, or encountering an error). We log metadata like your the speed of the expansion (in milliseconds), the number of variables used etc.
• Website Domain Names (Strictly Opt-In): By default, we do not track the websites you visit. If you explicitly enable "Seamless Site Support" in the settings, we will know the domain name (e.g., chatgpt.com) as well, where a prompt fails. This tells us exactly which websites require structural compatibility fixes.

3. What We DO NOT Collect

Our architecture is specifically designed to keep your personal data on your local device. We guarantee that we never collect, transmit, or store:

• Your Prompt Text: The content of your saved prompts and variables never leaves your computer.
• Page Content: We do not read or collect the text, emails, or data on the websites you are typing into.
• Personal Information: We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or account passwords.
• Keystrokes: We do not use general keyloggers. The extension only listens locally for your specific shortcut triggers.

4. Third-Party Services

We use industry-standard, secure analytics providers to process our anonymized telemetry:

• Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Used to monitor overall extension health and active user metrics.
• PostHog: Used to track feature usage and identify technical errors.
