Introduction

Chalant ("we", "us", "our") built Polls & Votes for Confluence as a Forge application for the Atlassian ecosystem. This Privacy & Security Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you install and use our app within Atlassian Confluence, as well as our broader security practices.

Your data will be securely hosted on Atlassian's infrastructure known as Forge. The Forge platform is designed to ensure high levels of security and compliance with industry standards. As the app vendor, we do not have access to any of the data stored on this platform. This means that all your data remains private and inaccessible to us. Additionally, Atlassian implements robust security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, ensuring its confidentiality and integrity. Data Storage and Infrastructure ("Runs on Atlassian")

Poll & Votes for Confluence is built entirely on the Atlassian Forge platform. This means the app operates securely within Atlassian’s own infrastructure.

• No External Databases: We do not host, store, or transmit your data on our own external servers or any third-party databases.
• Data Residency: All data collected by the app is stored strictly within Forge Hosted Storage and inherently complies with the Data Residency settings configured by your Atlassian organization administrator.

Information We Collect and Process

To provide consensus tracking and visualization features, the app accesses and processes the following data:

• User Profile Data: We request read-only access to Atlassian Account IDs, Display Names, and Avatar URLs to visually attribute user choices within the app interface.
• User-Generated Content: The app stores the configuration of the poll modules created (e.g., questions, options, expiry parameters) and the specific selections or votes submitted by end-users.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

• Provide the core functionality of the app, including rendering live charts, displaying voter identities next to options, and finalizing poll results directly on the Confluence page.
• Prevent duplicate submissions and maintain accurate state management by mapping Account IDs to specific poll interactions.

Data Retention and Deletion

We only retain data for as long as the app is installed on your Atlassian instance.

• Uninstalling: When an administrator uninstalls the app, all associated data stored within the Forge Key-Value Store is marked for deletion in accordance with Atlassian’s standard data lifecycle policies.
